The Mexican Particle Accelerator Community (CMAP) invites students interested in particle accelerator science and technology research to participate in the contest for a summer internship during the summer of 2022 in the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLAB) located in Newport News, VA, USA.

- To be a student in physics or engineering (undergrad or master)at any Mexican institution with a minimum general average grade of 8.0 (or equivalent).
- Having at least 70% (or more) of the bachelor's degree or less than 50% of the master degrees credits
- Fill out the registration form here and attach the following documents (a Google account is needed to access the registration form):
- A cover letter (written in English only) requesting to participate and describe the interest and motivation in the area of particle accelerators,
- A copy (in Spanish or English) of the list of grades (Kardex), including the general average grade. Note: if the Kardex does not include the average general grade, please, attach proof of it.
- Updated CV (in Spanish or English).
- Letter of recommendation (in Spanish or English) from a teacher or thesis (project) supervisor.
The selection process consists of two phases:
Phase I: A committee formed by particle accelerator physicists members of the CMAP will review each student's applications and documents and select the most outstanding profiles for the second phase.
Phase II: The selected students will be interviewed online in English (30 min) by members of the Committee (February 7-8). After the interviews, the Committee will select the awardee student for the stay and a substitute if the winner cannot carry out the summer internship for any reason.
Note: The stay will be from May 30th to August 5th; however, due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the dates could slightly change.
